What does a postpartum doula do?

A postpartum doula will provide support to new parents as they embark upon one of their most important journeys in life. A postpartum doula will provide new parents with feeding, sleeping, schedule support, and anything else newborn related.

What can I expect from my doula?

Your doula will come into your home and provide support and education to you and your family by providing support with feeding, schedule, sleeping. Your doula will provide continued support and education all while giving parents the sleep they need.

How long will it take YDD to find me my perfect doula?

Typically it will take 2+ weeks for the YDD experts to find you your perfect doula. At YDD we believe sending in your application as early as possible will allow for the absolute perfect match; however, if you are in need of a doula sooner we will never turn an application away and will do our best to provide you with a doula.

How soon before my baby arrives should I start to look for my doula?

The sooner the better in order to find your perfect match!

What happens if my doula and our family do not work out?

At YDD we believe in our practice and we believe that we will find you and your family with the perfect match. However, should that not work out for any reason we will be happy to rematch you with a more suitable doula if available.

I’ve used YDD before for my first child, can I request the same doula for my second child?

Absolutely! As long as the doula is available we will be able to match you with your previous doula!

Do I pay any additional fees after my application fee?

Once you have chosen your perfect doula from our referrals you will then be charged a YDD placement fee. The placement fee will be based on the doula you have chosen as each YDD doula is placed in a tier based on experience.

Do I pay YDD or my doula after I am matched?

You will be paying the doula directly after you have been matched.
