What do YDD association fees cover?

YDD association fees cover continuous background checks for every job, marketing for clients, continuous training, educational clinics, and support. Association fees allow you to attend additional training and courses for free or at a discounted rate.

Am I guaranteed work?

YDD’s system works in advance. YDD will find you work and once at the completion of your contract with that family we will work to find you your next placement. YDD’s questionnaire to both parents and doulas will allow our expert placement team to find the perfect family for you and the perfect doula for them.

Do I need experience as a working doula in order to become a member of the YDD association?

No, YDD works on a “Tier System” and offers shadow program experience to all of our members. This will allow you to gain experience and knowledge through some of the best doulas.

What is the Tier System?

Once a doula application is completed, a team of expert doulas will rate your application based on experience, years of work, training, education, and references. A YDD doula can be placed in one of three tiers with tier one being the highest and tier three being the lowest. Tier one doulas have the most experience, training, and education and tier three have the least. Those doulas in tier one can charge more per hour than those in tier three.

I’ve been placed in Tier Three, will I still get work? How do I move up in tiers?

Yes, tier three doulas will still get work. Second-time parents always have interest in tier three doulas as budget is sometimes more important than experience. Your level of experience will determine your tier placement. If you begin in tier three and continue with YDD and after experience gained will be moved up by our expert team of doulas to a higher tier.

Do I get to pick my own schedule and rate?

Yes, doulas will let our placement team know their availability and rate and our team will place them with the perfect family who matches their needs.
